I grew up near the Chesapeake Bay and the intricacies in the design of nature have always been a source of inspiration to me. Using data from the Chesapeake Bay Program, NOAA and the EPA, I created a site that looks at the overall health of the Chesapeake Bay. The site explores the pollutants, health of the tributaries and species that live in the Bay.
Landing page for Discovery Education. The the design was meant to provide a starting point for educators, administrators, parents and students to learn about Discovery Education's various services and resources.
Site was created to plan a roadtrip and features photos of each point of interest. Map was designed using CartoCSS and utilizes OpenStreetMap.
An iPhone and Android app that I designed and built to assist beach combers in identifying shark teeth. My goal in this project was to use technology to encourage users to explore nature and learn more about shark species. Profits were given to various nonprofits that are dedicated to shark and marine conservation.
Originally featured on Discovery.com, seven interactive infographics were created for each episode of Frozen Planet. Worked with howstuffworks.com team to gather research in order to create wireframes and design based on facts relating to each episode. Each page was animated using Jquery and layouts were optimized for mobile users.
